1. Stilts Walk |

世界各地都有不同的高跷文化背景,所以各地都有着不同的高跷由来。而中华高跷的由来传说来自中国某个乡镇,由于常年下雨造成水灾,因此村民们想到用木柴撑高自己避免弄湿衣服,慢慢的转变成民间艺术表演。
在本地早在60年代即出现高跷义走的表演,当时以穿着古装服饰游行表演为主。直到80年代,添加了许多高难度特技如跳火圈,翻跟斗等等,改变成高跷特技表演。新式表演方式在当时的确受到了欢迎。

Around the world, have their different stilts cultural background. So, everywhere has a different origin of the stilts. The origin of Chinese stilts, reportedly from a township in China. Because of the flood cause by raining all year around, the villagers think of the wood support to avoid wet clothes. Over time, it become a traditional art performances.
In local, the earlier stilts performances can be found in around 1960s, mainly performance was wearing various costume dress parade. Until 1980s, change of the performance by adding many difficult stunts such as somersault, jumping through fire spring and so on. New performing style was indeed to be welcomed.

2. God Body |

神将团是台湾庙会活动中常见的艺阵群之一,这些巨大的神偶有的是庙中主神的部将,也有些是主神,被请出来助威壮势,在神将出巡境时为民消灾解厄。
2007年,洪扬体育会从台湾引进了两尊门神(秦淑宝将军,尉迟恭将军)造型的神将体,并于同年参与新山柔佛古庙众神巡游,引起热烈回响。

God body is one of the performance troupes and groups can be found on Taiwan’s temple festivals. Some of these huge god body are men of the temple’s Lord God, some are also the Lord God. It was invited for parade to give people’s disaster and problem solving.
Year 2007, Hong Yang Sports Association has imported two Door God’s God Body (General Qin Su Bao, General Wei Chi Gong) from Taiwan. In the same year, it have been participate Chingay of Gu Miao Johor Bahru, and aroused an enthusiastic response.

3. Dancing Three Princes & Big Head Doll |

三太子乃是传说中的李靖的三子,(金吒,木吒和哪吒)。和合则是神化传说中保佑家合万事兴的神明,三太子原为台湾艺阵的一种,而和合二仙则在马来西亚广为流传较为普遍。
三太子与和合体多以竹片或藤编制而成,头部则以水泥或木雕所制。现代多以玻璃纤维取代。表演者藏身于神偶体内,透过神偶开口式嘴部小孔看出。三太子和合体型较小则以活泼顽皮的形式表演。
2009年,洪扬体育会从台湾引进可爱逗趣的三位太子及本地制作和合二仙,並结合三太子与和合呈献现代舞蹈表演。

Three Princes is reportedly the sons of Li Jing (Jin Zha, Mu Zha, Na Zha). The Big Head Doll is a god in mythological to bless the family lives in harmony all affairs will prosper. Three Princes was originally a Taiwan’s art performance troupes, and Big Head Doll was more common widely circulated in Malaysia.
The Body of Three Princes and Big Head Doll is making mostly by bamboo or rattan, while its head is make by cement or wood carving, but nowadays, it is replaced by using fiber glass. Performers hide into the body, seen through from the holes of open mouth. Since their smaller size, it always performs lively and naughty style.
In years 2009, Hong Yang Sports Association has imported the cute and funny Three Princes from Taiwan and the locally produced Big Head Doll. We have combined it to presents modern dancing performances.

4. Dragon Dance |

龙是伟大的,因为它得到了所有炎黄子孙的尊敬,龙又是虚无的,因为它只是一种精神,而不是一种物质。在中国,龙为神话中的神异动物,在阴阳宇宙观中代表阳,是民族的象征和王室的标志。有人认为这是古代炎黄统一中原各部落后,揉合各氏族的图腾形成的形象。传说能隐能显,春分时登天,秋分时潜渊,又能光云致雨。历代帝王都自命为龙,使用器物也以龙为装饰。龙被中国先民作为祖神敬奉,是中华民族的吉祥之物,在节庆,贺喜,庙会等期间都有舞龙的习俗。数千年中华民族都把自己称为龙的传人。
至到今天,龙不再是一种传统文化而是一种艺术,一种体育。,一种体育。

Dragon is Great, because it gets the respect of all Chinese people. Dragon also is imaginary, because it is just a spirit rather than a substance. In China, dragon is a miraculous animal in myth; it is on behalf of Yang in the Yin and Yang cosmology, it is a symbol of nationality and the royal family. Some people think that this is after the ancients unified the various tribes of central plains in China, an image formed by blend the totem of each clan. They say it can hidden and also visible, climb up on spring, dives on autumn. The emperors are self-proclaimed as dragon, the use of the artifacts is also decorated with dragon. The ancestors are treating the dragon as their ancestral god. It is also a mascot of the Chinese nation. We can found dragon dance during the festival, New Year, temple festival and so on periods. Thousand of years, the Chinese nation regarded their own known as Descendants of the Dragon.
Today, dragon is not only a traditional culture at all, but is an art and a sport.

5. Lion Dance |

南狮在广东,佛山一代最盛行,始因该地出现一头怪兽,到处嚼食乡农所丰收的蔬菜,每届除夕,该兽即发出“年年”之声,乡农遂以“年兽”称之。年兽眼大,口阔,头生一角,喜欢吃果菜,不伤人,性善,故乡农视为神物,不敢捕杀。但每届除夕,乡农以竹及纸扎成兽头,以布料剪成三角形缝制成兽被,选壮士二人舞动,形如年兽,附以格式响器集乡农数十前往年兽必经之路及木桥,待年兽发出“年年”之声时,乡弄即齐齐出动响器,舞动兽头,震声四野,年兽突遭惊吓,遂回身绝生而去,从此年兽不复再现。但民间此俗流传,每届除夕,纸扎兽头四处鼓舞之风仍盛,沿河至今,每逢过年比少不了“除年”-年兽以除或称“舞年”的俗例。

Lion dance is most popular in Guangdong, Foshan, it is because that area have a monster, eating farmer’s harvest of vegetables everywhere during every New Year eve. The monster will produce a voice of “Nian Nian”, and then it is commonly known as “Beast of Nian” by the farmers. The beast of Nian have big eyes, wide mouth, a horn on its head, it like to eat fruits and vegetables, do not hurt anybody and goodness, so farmers consider it is a sacred and not dare to kill it. Every New Year eve, farmers use bamboo and paper to make a beast head, use fabric to make beast back. Choose 2 of warriors to play it, just like a Beast of Nian, attached with various percussion instruments. When the beast of Nian produce a voice of “Nian Nian”, farmers will start to playing the beast head they make and making louder sound, the beast of Nian suddenly startled, turn around and run away. From here on, the beast of Nian is gone forever. But people still playing the paper beast during on New Year eve. Nowadays, every lunar new year still having the “eliminate Nian”, means the beast of Nian have been eliminated or we called it “Wu Nian”. (Now known as Lion Dance)

6. Giant Flag |

耍大旗就是要人平衡的拿着一面很大的旗。耍大旗被福建人称为Chin Yi或Chin Gay。
耍大旗不但考验体力,还考验技巧。耍大旗者必须拿着用竹做成,25至32尺高,宽度大概是25尺,重量大约有60磅重量的大旗,在路上行走,甚至做出高难度的特技动作。更精彩的是,表演者不只用手拿着大旗,还能用额头、肩旁等其他部位,来撑着大旗表演。

Playing the Giant Flag is to balance a large flag. Hokkien people call Giant Flag as “Chin Yi” or “Chin Gay”.
Playing Giant Flag will not only need your physical strength, and also need your skill. The player need to holding and balance a flag make by bamboo, about 25-32 feet high, width is about 25 feet, weight about 60 pounds, during walking even to make some difficult stunt. The more exciting is the performers not only hand holding the Giant Flag but also use forehead, shoulder or others parts to propped the Giant Flag.
